Pocket trays handmade

Hello!

After some days of Christmas celebrations with family and friend this weekend was quiet and on sunday I was creating some pocket trays or key trays. A pocket tray is something useful in all houses, it's used to put inside the keys, rings, mobiles and all the stuff we have in our pockets when we arrived at home and we need before to go out from it.

I have seen pocket trays made with leather but some days ago I was thinking in doing some pocket trays with fabriks. Made them it is too easy and the result is very nice ;-) and it can be an original gift for this Christmas!

Christmas time!

These days I'm preparing my home for Christmas tima and I'm preparing also some gifts. I have no more time but I think I will be on time, there's still a week to do it ;-).

I also made a collar with some pieces of a scarf that has an original wrapper with different kind of materials and ribbons,

At Christmas all is bright, all has another color, it's a magic time of the year above all for the kids but we also enjoy seeing their faces with smiles, excietements and surprise when they see Chrismas trees, lights, gifts...

Learning and enjoying

Hello!

Last week I've assisted to two courses. The first one, in my free afternoon I learnt how to create polar buffs for the neck. It was a long time that I wanted to make one and I saw this course that was perfect for it. It was a nice afternoon and the buff is for me. Soon I will begin to do buffs for others ;-). It was a nice course in a nice place and I went out of there with the buff in my neck, this week the temperatures have fallen down in Barcelona!

The second course was last Monday, day off in Barcelona and I took profit of it. The course wasn't do it yourself course, it was about technology. I've learnt how to use better HootsuitePro (a program that allows you to manage different social networks). It was a nice afternoon where I learnt a lot of things.

Learn for me is enjoy, is discover, is grow, knowledge... I've never be tired of learning new things, I thing life is learning, we learn a lot of things everyday although we think we are in a routine.

In this post I upload the buff I've created last week and some Christmas stuff that I made to decorate, I learn with them also to work with different types of fabrics.

And you, What do you like to learn?

Goodnight!

Creativity

These days I've listened in different places how important is creativity in our daily life and in our society. Without creativity, there's no innovation, and without innovation there's no progress. If we do thinks like always there's no space for progress.

I've attended to a conference where they talk about the importance to teach creativty to the child. It's important to teach maths, science, languages, etc. but we have to teach child to be creativity. I asked to me ¿Why nobody taught me creativity?, but perhaps I am from a generation where plays where pure creativity. In my childhood there were no Internet, no gameboys, no tablets... We play with table games, toys, we imagine to be teachers, fruit sellers, etc.

Now that Christmas are coming why not to give books, table games, comics... a part from robots, electronic games... in order child can create, think and imagine as we did.

Today I went to the Tiger shop, for those who doesn't know it is the shop where you will find a a lot of nice things: some usefull and other useless and a lot of things that help us to be creatives and create and with a low cost prices. I bougth a little thing for cover buttons and with it I hope to creat some brooches ;-), I also bought some ribbons for Christmas and here I upload some pictures of what I did with them. With a few imagination the ribbons can decorate different things.

For youngs and for olders

Hello,

This week I've finished a bib and a dummy holder with the same fabrik for a little baby that will born in a few days. I used a fabrik I had brought from USA from one page with beatiful fabriks http://www.hawthornethreads.com/. I hope they like the gift, I found easy to do bibs and dummy holders ;-).

Today also, I've begun an apron that I want to transform with one fabrik of the same webpage. I don't know if the apron will be for someone, for a gift or for me... I only knows that when I received the fabrick one month ago I was sure about what to do with it. Today I begin to design the apron and soon I will show you the end of the project.

I love to have ideas, projects or thoughs and thinking and imagine them little by little. The hours fly when I put in front of my sewing machine, the fabricks, bottons and so on, and I begin to create, imagine and design... Although sometimes I don't have time enough, I always find a few moment to do it and disconnect of everything.

I hope you like my new projects and I hope you find this daily/weekly moment to do all the things you love.

Goodnight!

Fabric remnants

Hello!

I have a nice box with little fabric remnants where I  keep all the remnants of my projects, I thought they will be useful someday.

Las week I had a birthday and while thinking what to do I remembered about a little notebook someone gave me last year with a flower made with fabric remnants. I decided to do something similar, so I decided to do a draw with the fabric remnants. Here I put the final result, a life tree created with fabric remnants, playing with different kinds of things. I also put the image of the notebook with the flower that now I'm using to take notes about my projects.

I will continue keeping fabric remnants, t-shirts, bows, etc. that I will reuse and transform in different kind of things such us draws, notebooks, cases...Seguiré guardando retales, lazos, camisetas, etc. que luego seguramente se podrán transformar y reutilizar en nuevas cosas como cuadros, libretas, broches, estuches, etc.

Good afternoon and happy sunday!

Creating or, should I say, cooking? ;-)

These days I’ve been creating and designing new brooches and key-rings. I have a lot of ideas and a little time, although if you want you will achieve everything you propose. Ideas never occur when you’re chilling with nothing to do. They happen in the less expected moment and time, instead.

Once I’ve been touched by an idea, I look for a time to create, I leave it rest for a while and keep doing until the project becomes a reality.

Brooch and accessory creation could be seen as baking a cake. First, you have to select the ingredients, then mix them. Sometimes you have to leave them rest before putting them in the oven or when you remove them. Finally, after it has rested, you must give your personal touch before you serve it.

Here you’ll find two new creations. One is already in the oven, the other one is resting before baking. I also attach a picture of a cake I baked which has been the inspiration to this post.

And you… do you cook and let it rest?

Most recent projects

I have been doing little things using different materials this February. A flower made using a jean jacket, which I don’t use anymore, and a kerchief given by a friend who doesn’t use it either. The result is a flower that you can wear on shirts’ lapels, coats or jackets, especially now that the weather is becoming warmer ;-).

I’ve already created a personalized key-ring and I have another one on the road…
My next goal is try to use new materials such as nespresso capsules, wire, etc.

Anything that can be recycled can be used to create new staff!!

Any suggestions on materials, shapes or creations are more than welcome.

Have a nice weekend

Bracelets and necklaces

This winter I have learned how to make necklaces with recycled T-shirts and fabric, as well as making bracelets with shoe laces. Attached you’ll see some pictures of my first creations, one actually made it today and owner free yet.

I’m still working in a couple more things. As soon as they are finished, I’ll show them to you.

Good night!

Let’s get started!!

Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to thank all those who have cheered me up these days. I’ve got some new creations thought, all of them personalized, of course.

From all presents we have received during our life, the ones we remember most are those who were actually devoted to someone. Who hasn’t got touched when receiving a handmade birthday card or a gift bought especially thinking of you. You’ll see that my creations are always varied, precisely because I made them by thinking on different people. In my opinion, brooches and key-rings are objects that really tell us about the person who is wearing them, as well as, any other accessories that we both, men and women, put on when dressing (earrings, scarves, wallets, …).

Here you’ll find some of the key-rings and brooches I have personalized this Christmas. In these weeks coming, I’ve already been ordered a customized key-ring, and I’m actually thinking of a brooch that may have an addressee.
If someone wishes to give a personalized gift we can talk about it. Same as if someone has a project in which I can put in my two cents.

Let’s get started!

How does everything starts...

The beginning, as many things in life, came by chance. All around my parents’ place you could find buttons, fabric, bows… My mum has been sewing for a long time and she liked to keep that stuff, just in case, she said. One day, we were wondering if we could do something to use all she had been storing in boxes and she was too sad to throw away. Therefor, I started surfing the Internet and found some interesting ideas which I could easily perform. Buying some felt and safety pin I could make brooches for my coats or a key-ring here and then.
For the last two years, I’ve been basically making brooches to family and friends and, I am pretty sure all my friends have at least one ;-) There came the day when somebody asked me ‘why don’t you sell them?’ My answer was straight. It is only a hobby for me which, actually, doesn’t cost much money. Nearly everything I use is recycled. I’ve already had a moneymaker which is my job and this is just a hobby that allows me to create, imagine, disconnect… I didn’t convince much. People know materials cost money and they decided to pay me anyway.
And here is where everything starts again, a second time. During last winter, I made brooches and key-rings to friends, secret Santa, Christmas presents, etcetera. When they told me they wanted to pay me, I thought I didn’t really need the money, only for covering material investments, which in fact is very little, but the rest wasn’t necessary at all. After thinking for a while, I decided to give a part of what they give me to charity projects. Not long before this, an earthquake had hit the Philippines so I contributed in my small way through the Facebook site One World For The Philippines. Another project was Cap nen sense joguina (no child without a toy). No better way to thank Christmas shopping than making a kid happy on three-wise-man night.
Finally, a third begging starts here ;-), by creating this blog where my creations, ideas and projects can be seen.
Would it be a forth begging?
